On 20 April 2026, Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training issued an announcement on earthquake and tsunami warning in Japan.

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training would like to inform the public, especially all interns and skilled workers currently residing and working in Japan, that on April 20, 2026 at 4:53 p.m. (Japan time), a magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck the Sanriku Coast of Aomori, Hokkaido, and Iwate prefectures.
